Right to Redeem Vehicle and Receive Surplus When Vehicle is Auctioned
When your vehicle is repossessed, you have the right to redeem your vehicle within 30 days. The officer must clearly inform you of the outstanding balance and can explain the various expenses that have occurred. In the case where the vehicle is auctioned, if the sale value of the vehicle is higher than the outstanding debt, you have the right to receive the surplus back.
